I'd agree with Consumer Reports, don't buy any AWD Volvo as they've been problematic and I doubt they'll last nearly as long as any 2WD Volvo, at least not without spending a ka-zillion bucks over the next few years. Their AWD system may work OK in snow or wet pavement but the design and overall quality of the AWD systems parts is terrible, far worse than ANY AWD vehicle I've ever seen or read about to date.

On a brighter note, the 2WD (front wheel drive) Volvos have been much better overall.
