Ignition Delay S70 00

Is this a common thing in Volvos? My ignition takes a while to turn on the car. I mean you have tutn it and hold it there for a good 2 seconds before the car starts up - I have noticed it is the same with my friends 850 Turbo... But when i try it on my brothers BMW or friends VW, Toyota... Its instint. Could there be a problem with the starter? Been like this since i got the car a year and a half ago...
