Ebay remotes? 850 1997

I'm curious as to where the sellers of these remotes (and other things) on Ebay are getting them? I know that dealers do mark up prices (as in ANY business anywhere) BUT to sell those at that low price and still be profitable makes me very suspicious. Once a year Volvo has a clearance where they sell off older, outdated and/or surplus items to Volvo dealers only at a reduced price. I'd suspect that possibly with these remotes (if OEM remotes and if these were ever surplus items?), someone working in a dealer somewhere has horded in a bunch, paid almost nothing for them and is then selling them on Ebay. I doubt that $35 is even cost for what dealers can normally buy those for.

Sure, the parts guy should know that "Volvo" doesn't make brake parts, it's either Girling, Bendix or Lucas and the parts guy saw that on his screen when he looked them up for you. "Volvo" is probably just the generic answer as he probably assumed that you wouldn't know any better and didn't wish to get that involved over those parts.
