Sunroof seal is leaking

I have 'fixed' this problem several times on my 854t5. The last time, I used a wood shim to lift the rubber seal so I could force the best (most expesive, longest warranty) silicone seal under the rubber. Spent more time in clean up than doing the actual caulking. So far, this had held for several years.

My IM also suggests windsheild adhesive, but this is not easy for DIYers to aquire.
