Loose Rear Hatch V70-XC70 1998

We need to know if the tailgate is on the first latch point or the second latch point. The second point turns off the idiot light up front.

Check the hatch for the 'rubber' stops on each side and bottom corners. If they are missing, get new ones from the dealer. Ditto if they are hard as a rock.

The striker plate on the bumper can be moved by slightly loosening 2 T40 screws. But that is the last resort. If you get it too tight, the lock will fail and that will cost you $250.
Look for the T40 screws at the bottom of the tailgate and make sure they are really tight. All 3 of them.
