Code PO 410? 850 1996

G'Mornin all!, Monday, the dreaded check engine light came on, and after a scan at the local auto zone, the code PO 410 came up, possible causes Secondary air injection pump, blocked hoses, open circuit/fuse. I have noticed an occasional "spooling" sound( the best way to explain that is it's a high pitched sound that sounds like a motor of some sort winding down). I did bypass the a/c compressor using a 50" belt this past weekend,(tried the 49.5, could not get it on) theres not a lot of tensioner left, but the belt's not slipping, that I can tell, but I dont think that would have anything to do with it, would it? The car is running fine, The auto zone guys cleared the code, and it hasnt came on again, it runs fine, so far, Does anyone know what the heck a secondary air injection pump is and how to fix it? Thank You all! -DM
