Either the button needs to be repaired or the radio replaced, those are your only options. If your radio does not have the single CD player, then I suggest looking for a 1997 radio with CD - it makes for a better sale anyway.

You could slip the radio out, take off the front cover, and find out why the button no longer works and try to fix it.
