what's the final word on 205/55/16's? 850 95

There seems to be a lot of mixed opinions on this tire size for 850T's. I'm currently running Pirelli P7000SS at a 50 profile, and they were great for the first 10 months but have recently morphed into the noisiest tires that I've ever ridden on. Balance checked out okay. Alignment is fine. Rotation had no effect. Still sounds like there's a hovercraft under the car. The performance is great but the resonance is driving me nuts.

I ran Michelin Pilot ZR4's on my 744T and they were great, but are only available in 205/55/16. I would love to slap a set on the 850, but I've heard about 'rubbing' with 55 profile skins.

What's the story? I have no suspension mods but do like to drive aggressively. Should I fear 'the rub' if I go to 55's? Any suggestions for quieter 50 series tires that won't compromise performance?

Thanks in advance...
