Thermostat replacement V70-XC70 2004

Hi, due to dealer's incopetence in servicing my V70-05 D5 engine, I had to replace the thermostat last summer myself.
Dealer's spare part includes housing & thermostat for 150Euros ie about 225$. Manual advises extensive removing of aux-belt and PS-pump before accessing thermostat housing in the first place.
I bought thermostat for 30euros, drained some cooling and replaced the thermostat with patience and persistence without removing the ps-pump etc, used those changeable tool-tips for torx screws. Mental orientation is needed though.
