Sice your warranty booklet was writen volvo has changed their policy for ALL bulbs on ALL 99 and newer models.

I do get your point about the $12, and driving to the dealer. Although my dealer does not charge anything to change any bulb...I would(and have) just replace them myself with all the extras I have.

What I would not do is, replace ANY dash bulbs(if one should fail...even though I keep them at about 70% of full brightness) myself....this, I will gladly let the dealer do under warranty!
