Re: HELP- key will not turn in ignition lock 850 1996

Now we have the same problem last week with the V40 volvo the key will not come out the ignition it stuck... it will not return to 0 so we can not remove the key...

car is brand new we took it back to the dealer..

Here is the fuck up explanation they told.

It the shift lock buttton yes the shift lock button .. they said it dirty so they took out and clean it and now we can remove the key..

I can not believe it.. they charge $100 for labor they said it was not cover under warranty.. we paid $30,000 brand new year 2000 car have 15,000

but this problem is not cover ..

hope this will hepl you out...

the 850 have the same button shift lock.. next to your gear shifter...

Now try this press on this button for couple time if it don't work

opend up the center consold get to the shift lock button and clean it out spray it with WD40.. Dealer do it on the V40

Hey what they hell they said that is the problem we Paid $100 why not try it out it may fix

They it was not my ignition for sure... please let me know what happend.
