front brake pad and rotor replacement V70-XC70 1999

1999 V70 XC 100kmi - front brake pad and rotor replacement - On my beloved older RWD, without opening the bleeders, I was able to compress a brake caliper piston with an 8 inch C-clamp to accommodate new brake pads. With a little persuasion I was able to accomplish this even if the most stubborn piston. My question would be, should I be able to do the same feat with the newer system? Should the piston compress fairly easily? I thank you for any information that you choose to share……

I miss my 140s 240s 740s and still adore our presently owned 1995 940… she’s a gem.
