S60 changed plugs: runs great except with occasional stumbling S60 2004

2004 S60 turbo, 73,000 miles. Changed plugs and the car runs great most of time. Occasionally at idle the RPM's drop, then engine surges a bit. Not a huge surge but seems like the engine realizes it is too slow and compensates.

At least one time at idle, in gear, stopped it did this in a regular pattern: about every 2 seconds the engine would drop about a hundred RPM's, then pull back to normal speed.

I know this doesn't help a lot but after a few days the CEL came on. I don't yet know the code, having misplaced the software key to my OBDII code reader program.

This has been going on for a week, car is driven several times a day. One time the engine stalled. No symptoms other than the engine speed drop/mild surge.

Thanks,
