S70 T5, Turbo Timer ? misc, questions S70 1998

I recently bought a 98 S70 T5 with 79k miles. Only problems I've noticed so far are the rear brakes howl when in reverse, and there is a tiny oil leak from under the car the source of which is yet to be determined.

Since I don't know if the TB was ever replaced its heading to the shop in the next couple of weeks. While its there I want to have the tranny fluid flushed for good measure - the shop says there's no tranny filter to change and to flush it they just keeping draining, refilling, and running the car over and over until its clean. Is that the way its supposed to be done?

Is the turbo water cooled , oil cooled, or both? Would adding a turbo timer benefit me?

Thanks,

Tim
