My experience in court cases (as an engineer, not an attorney) point to the conclusion that expert witnesses are much more valuable than text, whatever its origin. I have had text from car manufacturers themselves dismissed. I wouldn't be surprised if brickboard threads are discounted as hearsay. I'd advise you to try to bring independant, but certified, mechanics. Of course, you'll have to pay them for their time, but that would be recoverable. Good Luck.
