Volvo Buying Question

I currently have a 98 S70 2.5 NA...so I'm familiar with the 98 lineup..however my car has 160k on it and I'm looking at $550 worth of front suspension repairs if I don't sell it soon. I bought that car for $3500, so I don't want to dump in a significant portion of the purchase price if I can get a reasonable upgrade that probably doesn't need significant work.

I think I'd be fine with the viscous coupling AWD...I work in the far upper midwest, so awd would be a plus in my area - my current S70 tends to slip a bit here, but that could have to do with the potenza tires I have on the car (great all years, but only so-so on snow/ice).

Mainly I was looking to see if anyone knew about massive problems with a 98 V70R in terms of bad trans, electric systems, mechanical faults, etc.
