I have just installed the SC-901 in my 1994 854 T5. It was a lot of work but worth it. I originally got an SC-900 from a close friend, installed it and kept it for a few weeks. I needed to get better sound as the SC-900 crossovers were not adjustable. I went to a volvo dealer and traded up my Sc-900 for the 901. It cost me the old unit plus $189.00. In return I got a new SC-901, code, magazine, and warranty. Also the new SC-901 has a custom EQ and much, much, much better changer mechanism, can use an IR remote, and is just so much cleaner sounding. Just a few things to know about this install before you get into it though...For starters, you must have an external amplifier as the SC-900 and 901 DO NOT provide anything more than low-level outputs. (Okay, with the exception of the center chan output.) There is also a DSP unit required to use the dolby prologic features, and an antenna booster to make use of the diversity antenna. Further, making all of the connections and buying all of the "extras" is very costly. I suggest finding a totaled C70 in a salvage yard to use as the donor for the parts. If not, purchasing from the dealer will cost $1000+ for the DSP and other goodies. All of that assuming the dealer part dept can even figure out what all to order. Finally, cables...I had to make my own as the ones from the dealer are another $500+! Pulling the cables out of a salvage car is possible but you will spend a full day in doing so.
Well, anyhow, good luck with the install. I love mine and would do it all again if I had to.
