I've had my 2002 S40 for eight years now. It's holding up very well.

*O2 sensor replaced under warranty in '05.

*The stock rear brake pads only last 25-30,000mi. Go with Mintex pads and they'll be good for over 50K.

*Despite what the manual says (it says lifetime fill no need to change). I would change the transmission fluid about every 50,000mi. Make sure to use the correct fluid.
