A/C Evaporator - Anyone reimbursed by Volvo NA for cost? 850 1996

Spoke to some Chrysler auto technicans and discovered Chrysler extended the warranty to cover a/c evaporators for up to seven years. I had my 1996 850 turbo evaporator go out at 50,400 miles and one month past warranty last year. Needless to say it was not cheap. Want to know if Volvo reimbursed anyone for their evaporators beyond the warranty? Considering legal remedy to recover cost of repairs due to premature failure. Will research other car manufacturers for warranty policy.
