Help - Lower Control Arm Replacement Procedure! V70-XC70

Hi,

Having real trouble replacing the Lower arm on my 2002 V70. I have managed to get the old one out and new one into teh subframe, but trying to get the strut nplace to engage the ball joint and drive shaft is proving difficult.

Should I ratchet strap teh arm down?
Should teh drop link be discconnected?
Should teh steering arm be disconnected?

Any tips?
