Re: Strut braces. C70 1998

Hi,

I picked Volvo's (part number 9204176, in "Accessories Bulletin", Subject "Road Holding kit") just cause it was Volvos and the price was pretty good ordering over phone at dealers out of state. It came with new bolts for strut towers, and I believe (hope!) it was built not to affect crash crumple zone effectiveness. At least one Volo place advertises here at this site I think. You might talk your local dealer into a great price just saying you would rather order with them, but at that price difference it is hard to rationalize it (what I did).

Some braces may be better/stiffer (I don't know), some allowing pre-tension I think. I put mine on when I had winter tires so couldn't tell if it made a difference (no back to back testing when installing).

Regards,

Carl
