The 1993 850 is a very good car if you know its good points and bad points. We bought ours in Sep. 1997 at 42k miles and it has been a joy to own and drive. I have never had so much fun driving a car like this. Here are its good points:

1) Very good pickup from its 2.4-liter five

2) Excellent ride and handling; very smooth

3) Great gas mileage; we constantly average 30+ on

the freeway

Now its bad points: 1) The a/c evaporator WILL go at around 70k miles

2) You may not like some of the ergonomics

3) You will always have to put up with little

niggling problems with the electrics. Believe me,

I have had many small things go out on me.

Other than that, you should be in good shape to buy a '93 GLT.
