Re: OBDII Scanner S70 99

Vladimir replies that he used an Actron OBD-II scanner from Autozoo, but says that Volvo's use "proprietary codes". Do you mean to say that Volvo has it's own format for this? I'm new to the OBD-thing, but investigating. When I've heard of the word propritary in computer-dom, and other engineering, I take this to mean "does not follow normal convention". Is this another effort on Volvo's part to surrender to dealer service. I've found things like 7mm Torx, 11mm,15mm hex to be rather an annoyance. As is the lack of manuals available.
