Drive noise S70 1999

I have followed this list for some time and found it very helpful so thanks all. This will be my first post. I have owned two Volvo's before both 855's my last one was just totaled by a drunk driver. I am happy to

report my family survived with just minor injuries. I just purchased a 1999

base S70 with 23,000 miles on it. When first put into drive gear in the morning or when it has sat for an extended period I hear a noise from the

engine compartment or front end. It is not really a clunk it sounds almost

like an electrical relay or something (the tranny?) locking in gear. It occurs at about 5-10mph when I first start out after shifting into Drive gear from Park. Is this a normal electronic or relay gear lock for the tranny?I don't recall this noise with my two 855's.
