Liz, there are two thigs that come to mind for you to check. First is the both the "pos"/"neg" cables on your battery to be sure they are tight and crud free.

Next,you can also check the the ignition switch itself by moving(turning but not all the way)the key to see if that will either cause, or cure the problem......if this is the case the electric part of the key switch needs to be replaced.
