Squealing engine when cold.... V70-XC70 1998

Both of our V-70s do this in extremely cold weather-it is the power steering pump making noise with cold fluid. If you turn the steering wheel the sound will change. Changing the fluid to synthetic will help, but the noise doesn't seem to be a problem.
