Start off by checking for spark. Pull 1 or 2 plugs at random, lay them on top of the block, and have someone crank the engine.

If you're not getting a spark, grab a voltmeter and test the voltage at the ignition coil. If you're not seeing 12V out of there, then your problem is likely the ignition coil itself.

If that checks out, then I'd say the crankshaft position sensor would indeed be a very strong suspect.

Also, if it was moved quickly and shut off, these engines are prone to 'ring wash' that lowers compression to a point where the engine cannot start. If you have done this, and are getting spark, drop a bit of oil into each cylinder, replace the plugs, and crank with the pedal pushed to the floor until the engine begins to catch.
