Fuel pump? 850 1996

I would be helpful if everyone with the classic no start, stalling, rough idle, oil leaks etc. would start out with something like "I have an 850 with 340,000 miles on it and bought it from a drug runner on a north-south route. He didn't keep good maintenance records and we haven't done anything to it since we got it. We went to AutoZone and had the codes pulled...(indicate codes or lack of)"

Knowing miles, maint. history, and codes would be a big help.

Seems like fuel pumps die suddenly and the little electric motor doesn't start and stop in fits. If you have kept the car in good tune and the filters are newer, I would think MAF. I have had less than a gallon in the tank already going through hilly country by my folks and didn't have issues with start stop....
