chance to add 98v70 std to stable V70-XC70

Better mpg with the V70 compared to the V90, but less torque and bhp. The brakes are easy and cheap, what is not easy is the AC evaporator. The oil separator under the intake manifold is a pain, but DIY job.

Really be concerned about the tranny. Better than the early 850s, and better than the 2001-2 5 speed trannies, but still a weak point. Tranny replacement is not cheap. Ditto for rear main seal, which is why we advocate the oil separator replacement.

The vacuum lines and elbows are suspect after 12 years and should be replaced.

Ask for a copy of the Carfax, the dealer has one. Usually, the town is listed and from that you could locate the nearest dealer and ask for maint history. Your interest is in the evap and any re-occuring codes.
