Feedback request prior to purchase S70 1998

Need feed back prior to making a decision
Option 1
1998 S70GLT W/ 125,00O miles, Not all the frills
Option 2
2001 V70 2.4T W / 106,000, All the bells and whistles.
Have not had a test drive yet.
Both appear clean and no visible problems. Other than a price difference.

Trying to help a friend that is trying to make a choice.
I have read on both boards about problems, and looking for any other input.
