850 tranny slow shift 850 1995

Occasionally my 850 takes a little while to shift out of first gear when it is being driven for the first time of the day. It might stay in first for as long as half a block. Once it has shifted it is good for the rest of the day. I have read on this site that flushing is a good thing for these cars. Could this be all it needs. I believe it may have been driven with a low oil level by the previous owner as I found it was leaking from the bottom of the fill tube. When I checked the level the stick was dry. It still shifts quickly and does not slip.
