Transmission flushed. Question. 850 1995

Flushed transmission today. I used the upper hose at the radiator - easy to get to. At 70K the old fluid was quite "worn", it looks much worse in a transparent container than on the dipstick. I did not see much diffrence in shifting - it was not bad before flush.

I have a question - the standard procedure is to replace about 2 liters at a time. Why not let the transmission to pump as much as it can? 4 liters or more at a time? The car is idling, it seems like there would be no harm to the transmission.

In my case, I replaced around 3 liters on the first, 2.5 on the second, and 2 liters after that. I hope it will stay red for some time.
