Anyone tried using the post '96 OBD-II port for getting diagnostic codes as with the earlier models? A brief explanation is posted over at Volvospeed. I've tried Alex Peper's laptop program and Vol-FCR, both of which have their strengths, but neither gives the detail that the flash codes give.
