diagnostic no-code 850 1996

You have a 1996 with OBDII boxes? Rare car. You also have the option of 'borrowing' a scanner at an auto parts store, just pull out the coin tray and plug the scanner in.

Is this a turbo or NA? Have you pulled out a spark plug during a no start condition to see if you have spark? Just ground the plug against the block and spin the starter. If the plugs are really black, you are running too rich which is an indication of a vacuum leak. Check the gap, should be .028 for turbos, the NA cars have 3 prong plugs which cannot be gapped.
