Buying a V70 Question V70-XC70

Ive had my 1988 740T for nearly 8yrs and a 240 for 10yrs before that. Im thinking of a change for the better in the V70. The car pictured is a 1997 model, the owner says has no major problems, ive read that the auto's had issues which is fine because i intend swapping in a manual gearbox. Q2 Anyone know if all V70's got the same manual gearbox (M56H,L) and how difficult is it to swap. I am very happy with the 740 auto to manual swap i did. Also can that rear spoiler be removed??
