Bad Brake switch V70-XC70 1998

Hey guys,

Our 1998 xc70's brake light stopped working. I located the switch and pressed the plunger in and out a few times and it worked for one day. It is doing it again, so I want to replace the switch. It looks like it pops into a metal bar and it has a plugs into a harness. Is there a trick to getting it out of the metal bar? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
