The only way I would get 25K between oil changes is if I made multiple trips from NYC to California or Florida. Highway cruising doesn't mess up your engine the way stop and go do. Besides, most of us barely get the engine warm before we shut it off again - really severe conditions.

Change synthetic every 7,500 miles. Or, change the filter at 5K adding a quart of new oil, then at 10K flush oil and filter.

Use either 5W30 or 10W30.

The tranny will probably require 3309 fluid. Most 5 speed auto boxes do.
