Back seat locked down by belt 850 1997

My wife did me in, finally. Wide portion of back seat would lock in down position because center seat belt would not release. I would raise the seat portion of the small seat, reach back under with my socket wrench, and undo the belt where it is bolted to the floor. This would release the belt, I could raise the seat. This time though the wife put the back seat down without first raising the seat portion, thus making it impossible to get a wrench on the seat belt bolt in the floor. Wrenching and swearing to no avail. I don't want to cut the belt, but what else can I do? The back of the seat doesn't look like it easily unbolts. Dick
