Ambient air sensor hijinx S70 1998

So I have been getting the DISC message intermittently, and I finally got under the car. I was expecting to find mice had chewed the wires, but they were fine. Not thinking about what other problem there may be, I proceeded to attempt to remove the sensor. It wouldn't come off. I yanked, pried and prayed. Nothing worked. I finally got the channel locks out, and with a hold on the connector pried with a large screwdriver against the sensor.

It turns out the corrosion of one of the contacts is what was holding it together. One was bright and shiny, the other dull green.

I have lost my patience as the years have slipped by - I was ready to grab the wires and just yank. I used some DeOxit, and the temperature reads fine now. Pressed back together just fine.
