I Screwed Up My Antenna 850 1993

Yes, Klaus is right that it's a very inexpensive and easy fix.
You may very well find that if some of the toothed plastic 'ribbon' is retained, the unit will still take up the new ribbon and correctly operate after several runs.
I installed a new antenna mast and found it as inconsistently operating to fully closed. If I'm not mistaken some of the toothed ribbon was retained.
I was dreading the essentially easy but 'time wasting' exercise of opening the unit.
After a couple days and a dozen up/down cycles the mast works perfectly.
And if it doesn't...just open up the unit and take out the retained ribbon.
