Power steering failure? 850 1995

Also check your fluid for 'frothing' while the pump is running which might suggest a busted pump.

If you can easily turn the wheels when the car is up on stands, maybe you have a bad strut bearing? I had a 740 that had this happen. I was chasing steering problems for weeks until I took it to someone I knew and he said it was the strut bearings. Once I changed those, everything was fine. These don't fail often either.
