Don't mess with the dipstick, leave it in place. The PCV is for oil vapors, not liquid oil, so venting to atmosphere will not be that bad. Just a few drops.

If it were me, I would just put the old gasket back on the oil cap. Then go on the trip with the AutoRx. Remember to not overfill the the oil pan. And read the entire back of the bottle!
