Cleaning Intercooler & Lines S70

That depends on how thorough you want to get in your cleaning. I cleaned my intercooler inplace using a hose and dish detergent(Joy), others have taken out the intercooler and sloshed the soapy warm water around (too much work for me).

I left the bottom IC hose attached, parked the nose of the car on my poor grass, detached the IC hose from the throttle body, and filled the IC with warm soapy water. Then rinsed a lot after removing the bottom hose.

To help remove the IC hose from the throttle body, first remove the air intake tube from the front to the air cleaner. Just pull it away from the air cleaner, then to the rear. Amazing how much extra space you get!

The reason you are getting a lot of oil is because one of the seals in the turbo is wearing. You can ignore this and clean the IC annually, or attack the turbo. New seals are around $100 and mechanically adept DIY'rs can finish the job in less than a day.
