Volvo V70 99 & later V70-XC70

Gentlemen...

My wife just totaled our V70 98 T5 wagon. I always had 98 volvos (3)
and several 240's and 740s....

Looking to buy another 70 series, would like the wise, trusted and valued
opinion of members, on the problems and pains of the volvos 99 and later..

(Should I just look for the faithful 98 Models)

Any advice would be Most Graciously Appreciated,
