V70 Camshaft Position Sensor V70-XC70 1999

Hi,

These engines really need clean oil at all times. Synthetic is a near must. The Variable Valve Timing assembly can and will clog with filth. This unit is controled by an oil pressure solenoid on the camshaft cover. The inlet screen here is the first place to check for debris. I would switch to Mobil 1 and change it every 3000 miles. Use only quality filters. These cars are not beaters. If you want a beater, get a 240. Otherwise keep up with the maintenance.

Clear the code and see if it returns. Keep your wallet in your pocket for now, and put synthetic ATF in the transmission and steering gear instead.
