Trunk Strut Replacement 850 1995

I received the trunk struts today and plan to replace them this weekend. I read the Haynes and the procedure is quite involved (but also clear).

I remember there was a trend on this board on how to replace the struts by prying them off from the trunk. Any advice? How is it done by Volvo techs?
