Richard,

if you want a safe SUV then get an Infiniti QX4. This car mannaged not to roll over when hit from the side and also it recievd 5 stars for all crash tests. My parents have a 2001 and we love it. Check it out at the infiniti dealer when you are over there. It has the same clearence that the as the new XC's.
