Soft Brakes 850 1995

Yes, I applied pressure at the M/C reservoir, ~10psi worked nicely.

At this point, I've driven it for a few days, and it still seems worse than before I started, although I'm getting used to it. I can get the braking that I want without pumping, although sometimes I give it one pump, which lets the pedal come up a bit. It doesn't move or leak down if I'm holding pressure on it, even if I intentionally hold a lot of pressure on it, so things seem to be sealing. It really does feel that there's some air in there somewhere.

I decided that I'm going to re bench-bleed the m/c, and see if it makes any difference. I ordered a kit like what you described. It may bleed out some air from internal to the m/c, or it may just reassure me that the m/c is good and has no problems, so it's good either way.
