dashboard removal 850 1995

NQB,

Having done this job I offer the following advice.

There are actually 6 torx screws holding the lower dash--2 at each end, 2 on either side of the shifter and 2 behind the ashtray.

The screws that hold the center panel do not have to be removed. But, have someone help you remove the dash. It is heavy and any flexing will break the fragile tabs the screws secure. To remove the dash, you lift up to clear the locating pegs and then pull away.

To reinstall, lift over the ledge to allow room for the locating pegs to seat.

Do NOT tighten the bolts over 5-6 ft lbs!

I found that placing a faucet washer (same OD as the washer) between the metal washer of the bolt and the firewall absorbs vibration and allows some movement of the dash to further reduce noise if it is warped from years of sun exposure.

Le me know if you have any questions.

Good luck,
Bryan
