Control Arms and Axles oh my....... 850 1997

Hello all,
Well its time for me to do my first front wheel drive axle and control arm fix.
Parts should be here today, so I'd like some tips from others who have done this. I'm not a mechanic but have tackeled most of my repairs on my cars for the last 20 years or so. Looking for tough spots and ways around them. Is one side worse than the other? Car is a 1997 850 sedan with over 200k, not sure of the exact mileage as the odometer has quit. Ball joints are sloppy and the axles are split and making the tell tale clicking noise on turns. Hopefully I got everything I need, I bought new hub bolts and seals, don't want to be caught short.
Thanks as always.
